The men gathered as usual.  These were valiant men, husbands and sons, accustomed to hard labor and struggle, having endured much to aid their families.  Now the country was going through a severe depression.   The year was 1933, and ready cash was not an achievable commodity.  They could provide food in the form of cornmeal, a favorite part of their daily needs.
